The law will come into force on October1, 2024 - what can we expect?
From now on, the application of the law on tobacco products will be extended to electronic cigarettes and their derivatives, with or without nicotine.
These regulations aim to protect minors in particular, but also consumers, by systematically checking the identity of the buyer (in store or online) and restricting advertising. Labelling will also be labelled, and leaflets will be translated into the country's 3 official languages to bring greater clarity to the warnings on the product purchased.
The introduction of the tax will therefore apply only to products containing nicotine, with a maximum content of 20 milligrams per milliliter.
Vaping in Switzerland won't be what it used to be...
We will no longer be able to nicotine your products as we have done until now. Nicotine sales will be limited to small 10ml bottles of neutral base, nicotined at 20mg/ml in booster form.
Basically: when you add a booster to a standard 50ml bottle of e-liquid, you get 60ml in 3mg, two boosters 70ml in 6mg, and so on. We also supply 120ml and larger bottles for your blends.
A new law means a new tax. The tax will be CHF 2 per 10ml booster (0.20ct per ml nicotine). With an increasing effect depending on the nicotine dosage requested.
Some of our products will be limited in the near future, while we find similar alternatives or adapt our containers and packaging accordingly.
At Shifters, we offer you over 200,000 boosters at discounted prices, when you buy your e-liquid, available in our stores and on our online shop.
Further changes are planned and will come into effect between now and January 31, 2025. Our stores are ready to continue serving you in the best possible conditions, and always in the Shifters spirit!
Don't hesitate to come and see us in store, we'll be delighted to help you.
